Introduction
i-mate™, founded in 2001, is one of the world_$low_quot$_s leading experts in the design, development and customisation of Smartphones and Pocket PC_$low_quot$_s, based on Microsoft® Windows Mobile® software. The compelling mobile content and applications offered on i-mate™ devices, backed by an outstanding customer support service, have helped i-mate™ to market-leading positions in several territories, with product distribution across the Middle East, North America, Australasia, Africa and many part of Europe.
History
i-mate™ was founded in 2001 by Jim Morrison. Jim, who has over 20 years experience in telecoms (principally with Cable & Wireless and BT), was a key member of the team that conceived and designed the product which became the O2 xda.
i-mate successfully launched its first product in Europe and the Middle East in 2002. The first i-mate™ branded product, the i-mate™ Smartphone, was launched into the Middle East market in May 2003 and, in June 2003, i-mate’s head office was established in Dubai, UAE.
The i-mate™ Pocket PC was launched at GITEX Dubai 2003 to great acclaim. Since then the company has launched 20 devices in its various markets around the world. |
